Plot twist: on many public festivals in Germany street food must not be served in disposable containers. They must be edible or at least compostable. So you sometimes get exactly this – and I think it’s beautiful.

as someone that used to do the chicken soup bread bowls as like a comfort food when feeling a little sick, this type of thing looks soothing for the soul imho. i would like the contents to do a little more with the bread, add a little more soak
btw there is a plate under the bread… those sausages are going to roll out of there, i would cut them and the potatoes up then put that in like a stew

Bread bowls are very much a thing and are used in a variety of ways. This dish was obviously designed this way. And it’s on a plate.
