They’re paying *all* employees as if they were servers? For counter service? Under the guise of “uniting” FOH and BOH? And holding earned tips until the next pay check? (Where you can also be docked for shifts where your turned up on time rather than 10 minutes early and somehow Idoubt they pay for those additional minutes?)

I tried them once, and not impressed. Now that I know how they treat their employees, I won’t be tipping if I go back AND I have to pay and pick up my food. They make alot of money, pay your employees!!

I haven’t been to the new one… but do they even have servers? I thought the low wage for waitstaff was typically at sit-down restaurants where they could expect to make a lot in tips. It seems odd they’re touting themselves like they’re bucking the trend when I would be horrified to find out any counter service restaurant paid $2.50/hour in the first place.

Shitty tipping policies aside, the restaurant was kind of a mess. There was no organization and it was dirty and messy. It sucks because I was looking forward to it. While waiting in line we saw 3 DIFFERENT people go up to complain about the food or how long it was taking. I looked at my wife and we just decided to call it. 40 mins of waiting, zero food. Got back in the car and drove to Louie’s and had great bbq tacos in no time. Then walked down to Summer Moon for an iced tea. Afternoon salvaged. No thanks, Valentina.

It’s the throwing the whistle blower under the bus for me. Speaks volumes about their character. I’m actually glad they responded but then when I saw them try and discredit the poster instead of just admitting their company policy and possibly entire workplace culture needs some revisions, it told me all I need to know about what kind of people the owners really are. Cooking good meat and having integrity are not mutually exclusive…

Something is going on with this place! When we visited the restaurant in Buda for the first time, they never weighed the BBQ in front of us. Placed our order waited 1hr the food was brought to us and I just thought it was odd that they don’t weigh your order in front of you. So when the order was delivered I was supposed to trust that I was served 1lb of brisket? It did not look like 1lb and was cold!!
