Toronto, ON here. This is the third week in a row where there’s no expiration date indicated on the protein. First week it was the ground turkey, second week it was the beyond meat patties, and now my delivery today has no expiration date on either the chicken breasts or minced turkey.

If I don’t know the expiration date, how can they safely ensure these aren’t expired prior to delivering them?

Smell test is your best bet anyway. Expiration dates tend to be arbitrary. But I do wish they’d put some kind of date on them at least so I know when they think it’ll expire and that I know when it was packaged

In the US all meats ship frozen and thaw on the way to your house, they only say “use within X-X days or freeze”. I use chicken first when possible and give it a sniff before cooking.

Its all vacuum sealed so I just leave it in the freezer and thaw in the fridge the night before
