Their Shoyu ramen is probably my favorite bowl of ramen in the city. Truly excellent.

Ohh..back when you could get a combo for under $10 😭

That’s a great deal consider u don’t have to tip. Most ramen in LA u won’t come out spending less than $20….

My personal favorite ramen in all of LA.

Their spicy miso ramen is so comforting. It’s better than a Zpack for knocking out what ails you.

I remember when this set used to cost $7. Price of ramen is so stupid in America and has been perverted into a sit down restaurant experience.
Santouka will still be my go to ramen since it’s closest you get to what ramen should be which is a quick eat and go experience.

Santouka is one of my favorite Ramen places. Lived on the Westside before moving to OC and so glad I can still go to 2 different Santouka down here. Spicy Miso with a the Natto rice on the side is excellent. You get a spoonful of rice, natto, and green onion, dip all of that in the spicy miso soup and enjoy. That’s how I got my daughter to like natto and now she craves natto all the time.

Justifiably legendary.

One of the best, that’s for sure. Crazy how a food court has one of the best ramen in the area.
In recent days, I get it as a combo with a rice bowl. Eat the ramen, then dump my leftover soup into the rice. Usually the last few spoons are a little too salty for me, but mixing it in with the plain rice mitigates that for me.

Go for the special pork. You’re worth it.

Oh I miss santouka 😭😭

Hearty yes to this!
Lived around the corner from the old Torrance Mitsuwa for years and this was the spot where my kids learned about ramen. Now, a decade since we moved a bit farther north, when my daughter comes home from college Santouka is consistently top of her list for comfort food/ramen jones.
Still reasonably priced IMO given how much overpriced, not so good ramen there seems to be out there.

Mitsuwa? This is my favorite place for Ramen.

Santouka is good. Just simple and straight forward and always satisfying in a way that sometimes fancier ramen isn’t. They have one at Mitsuwa food court in Costa Mesa, and it’s not even the best place there. There’s this place that sears beef tongue over coal that’s crazy good and I don’t know the name.
