This is one of my favorite sleeper recipes from Serious Eats, and I only make it in July when the ingredients are available at my local farmers market. The dish is deceptively simple, most of what’s in it is in the title, but when you get the ingredients fresh and local you are rewarded with a rich depth of flavor. Be sure and use pepper bacon or else add lots of fresh ground pepper yourself, it’s instrumental to the dish.
