It’s a way to get fresh produce from the farm.

It’s around the city and I get it through meals on wheels

This is what I got today. I alternate and get a small fruit box too. Every two weeks. Since I am on a seniors program I get a discount.

Weekly Contents (July 24- July 26 2023)

15 Apples*
1 Bunch Banana
4 Corn
1 Grapefruit
1 Bunch Of Kale
1 Head Of Lettuce Romaine
1 8oz Package of Mushrooms
1 Green Onion
1 Bunch Rainbow Chard
2 Green Zucchini

Large Produce Box

So from this I can buy whatever else I may need? It’s less then at the grocery store. Then I buy what I need from the grocery store.

Yes we have similar programs. Here in Chicago for the past couple years I’ve done CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) that a local farm coordinates, but I’ve also done the “ugly produce” programs where you get produce that isn’t fit for retail but is totally fine to eat.

I use it mainly to force myself to try fruits and vegs I don’t normally eat
