BEST EVER-How to Build a RAISED BED in a TOTE Free/Cheap Food Vegetable Garden Container Gardening

Container Gardening, Raised Garden Bed

  1. That's a great idea, i have a zucchini plant that can use a little help.

  2. I have been doing that for years but I use the one gallon restaurant size cans as they rest they put a little iron in the soil and periodically I take a knife and run up and down the side With the blade facing towards the center of the can to cut the roots so they're not so root bound because I cannot get any bigger pots

  3. My containers are not holding moisture so wondering what can I do? The water drains out so quick and dries out by end of the day so pls help. I was thinking about adding vermiculite

  4. Great idea!! 🎉 My veggies are long gone for this season, but I’m going to try this with whatever flowers/plants are still surviving in this heat. I’ll bet it gives them the boost they need!! Thx!!

  5. Brilliant! You could also simply put weight on top of it. I'm going to make some simple concrete weights for composting fall leaves but I could also make some round ones and do this, right in a tote!! It can still be watered. I know that leaves fill up with worms and compost very quickly under big flat rocks so this would be perfect for that! The worms, I think, like the shade, dampness AND the "undergroundness" of the weight.

I've been looking at deforestation and sinkhole "fields" and there seems to be correlations. Which seems obvious, at this point, as cutting down trees leaves massive root systems underground. Roots that are going to be consumed and cave in, just like a tote that gets more and more shallow..

  6. google images of sinkholes in the rain forests – it's terrifying.

  7. Thank you Robbie ❣️this is a great idea 💡 I do the layering even with the small pots. I've never thought about that. My round zucchinis are in smaller pots cause I didn't have any big container left. I will put smaller pots on the top loading them this way. I also have some tomato plants in big pots and I've plant in here so e basil too. This will help these tomatoes to spread their roots more and the earthworms will be happy too❤️
We are having a massive heatwave here….no rain. I think that my plants ate starting strangling with all that heat…. I water my plants everyday now.
Thank you for the idea Robbie. I think this will boost our plants and help them❣️❣️❣️
Be safe and stay cool my friend ❤️🌟❤️

  8. LOVE THIS ! I am thinking this would help shade the soil covering any roots that are near the surface in these blazing temps .

  9. Robbie am growing a tomatoe plant in a five gallon container I went to move it and the roots had gone into the ground.

  10. I'm depressed. My garden isn't producing like it did at my old house. When I saw your Zuch leaves, I teared up. Mine are literally the size of the palm of my hand. Maybe the monsoon rains in AZ will perk them up. Have a great day.

  11. Robbie that is a wonderful idea now I know what to do for some of the plants in the garden & hopefully for my sage plants in the front yard in the ground🥰🥰🥰

  12. I tried growing mints in pots, ground, patial shade, and full sun. They grew for just a month or two. I tried growing from seeds and plants from stores. They didn't survive. Please help!

  13. 😮My head is spinning. Wonderful! You are my gardening angel! I already have a guardian angel! Lol. Can’t help myself 😂

  14. Hi Robbie! If I only have space where the pitcher is, would you recommend I replace that with this? I want my watermelon plants to keep going. They actually have fruit on them! I am so excited.

  15. in-place composting, sometimes known as "trench composting" or "tube composting

  16. I used 3 liter plastic pop bottle with the bottom cut off on top.
I do not haveold pots to put in my pots.
