My mothership location at Alhambra is pretty consistent in serving up great burgers, but on this day they just created some amazing specimens that reached that rarefied air of excellence. One other instance stands out where I was truly wowed by a double double (Westlake Village), but I’m guessing it’s less location dependent and more to do with a cosmic alignment of whoever happens to be in the kitchen plus the quality of the days ingredients, but it’s a thing of beauty to get to taste this perfection when it does happen.

A double double animal style is my jam. I do think they overdo the lettuce slightly so I always get without. I like lettuce but I feel they give you like half a head of it lol. My wife hates burgers but will order a burger from in n out.
For a million dollars do you think you could eat 5 dbl dbls in 30mins?

Didn’t even know pickles was available as an add-on. How much extra did that 3rd one cost?
Clearly, you’ve never had an 8×8: 8 patties, 8 cheese, extra grilled onions, extra chopped chilis, no tomatoes (it waters down the others), extra spread. Then, order a side of fries “no-salt” so they’ll have them to you really freshly cooked.
might be an unpopular opinion, i think shake shack is better in terms of taste and quality. but for the price and amount of food you can get, in-n-out is still my preferred spot

Love it. Ask for lettuce on the side. They are 100% customer oriented.

I’m a grilled cheese animal style with pickles and chopped chilies. Wonder if I can get a double grilled cheese animal style with pickles and chopped chilies! It’ll be like a big salad with the fixings between a bun. Yum!!! I’m going to try that next time…
My go to is a single or double double. Grilled onions well done, add chopped chili, no tomato, patty mustard fried.
I can walk to the Alhambra one, love that location! Worst traffic flow/drive thru system at that intersection though
Animal style tomato wraps has been my new passion. I get it in addition to a single cheeseburger

I just wanted to thank you for posting this. I decided to get a double double animal style with raw onion which I had not thought of before. I’m having it right now and it’s amazing. Also in Alhambra.
A double double with just onions, NO tomatos, NO lettuce, NO pickles for me. Cascabella peppers on the side. Fried always well done. Never tried extra toast. Might try.
