This week, we’re featuring **Crown Heights!**

In the [Brooklyn Neighborhood map](https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=1VYN-6Vkk01byUCF7P13rT6ORT5g) we’ve been using, it will be the area for **Crown Heights** \+ **Weeksville**. Here’s also a probably more accurate boundaries on [Google maps](https://goo.gl/maps/9TwctoWd1sTKf9vY8).

Some optional prompts:

* What are some of your favorite food spots or “hidden gems”?
* Any “must have” or go to dishes from those particular spots?
* Are there any points of interest or events that is worth going out of the way to visit?

Can someone pls tell me if Izzy’s bbq is good? I’ve had most of the spots in NYC and that is one of the spots I haven’t made it out to yet.

Rialto grande is a cool, reasonably priced bar with a cute outdoor space

I’m a big fan of Agi’s Counter. Really nice place. I used to like Cafe Rue Dix and Dutch Boy a lot, too, but I haven’t been to either in ages.

I lived in Crown Heights for a bunch of years. The only place I’d go back for is Ali’s on Utica (which stretches the boundaries of the hood). Tamra Tea House was lovely, but didn’t make it.

On the edge, Natural Blend on Washington. Great vegan bowls and crispy patties.

Silver Rice off Franklin ave is always high quality.

Trini Golden Place on Nostrand for doubles and currant rolls. Across the street from there, Colina Cuervo has really good pancakes and guava and cheese empanadas.

People mentioning chavelas aren’t mentioning their 4-7pm weekday happy hour w $9 marks and $3 fish tacos that are a loaded ~5” tortilla

AA gets all the love but Trinidad golden palace is the spot. Doubles, aloo pie w curried shrimp, Palau, and currant rolls are bangin

People missing glady’s but Gee’s nostrand are the same people

Banhmigos has a pretty good banh mi

Winner on Franklin is new but has the best European style baked goods in the area imo

On the outskirts but mama’s kitchen for Israeli style kosher Jewish food is what’s up

Grandma’s kitchen for soul food, the smothered turkey wings feel like a hug and then some

Peppas is mid but catch the guys smoking jerk on the street on Saturdays and some Sundays along eastern parkway

So many gems but that’s all for now

Mama Louisa’s is great for sandwiches. The artichoke parm sandwich was recently featured on Bon Appetit.

Izzy’s is great if you like Kosher BBQ.

Lot of bagel places that are good.

Couple of people have mentioned Ali’s, Bahnmigos, and Chavela’s.

Franklin Park has decent food, great milkshakes, and a great outdoor area.

Names has a great selection of like Japanese/American cuisine.

Hasenstüble has a wide variety of German beers and food.

Culpeppers, Gloria’s, and Golden Krust are excellent Caribbean spots.

    Barboncino has great pizza.

    Zanmi’s is amazing Haitian food.

The bean pies at Abu’s bakery on Fulton and Bedford are amazing!

I know this might sound strange, but the Market Place is a kosher grocery store and the hummus and grilled babaganoush is absolutely incredible that I think it has to be mentioned. I cannot encourage this place enough.
