Acre 41 is doing a monthly whiskey tasting event on the last Wednesday of every month. I went to last night’s event put on by E.H. Taylor Small Batch Whiskey.

It’s $20 for a flight of the featured whiskey brand and some light bites. Additional cocktails with the brand are 50% off.

If you time it right (and I did) you can hit happy hour at the bar until 6pm ($10 cocktails, $12 apps) and then head to the tasting in the private dining room above the restaurant floor.

Takes about 1.5 hours for the whiskey presentation, a serving every 30 minutes or so and they play records with some kind of historical association to the drinking. Someone with the company talks about their distillery, products, etc.

They also gave away some cool home bar swag items.

The food was light (mini-empanadas, fried artichokes, churros w/ chocolate sauce, buffet style) so afterwards I hit up the Uyghurs Skewers stand on The Drag, it’s right around the corner from the restaurant.

Including the ticket I spent about $40 for two cocktails, three whiskey pours and the snacks.
Not bad for a couple hours at a fancy hotel restaurant. 👍
