I noticed borer frass coming out of a pinhole on one of my harvested acorn squash. It’s bad enough that they have murdered the plants and now they are ruining the edible parts too.

Fact of life. Bugs exist and are part of the whole food growing process. Just cut around it, it’s fine.

This is my first year not trying to grow squash, and it’s been liberating quite honestly. I also don’t really have enough full sun to grow it well, but between vine borer and powdery mildew it caused me nothing but stress. If you do decide to not grow squash I hope it is equally liberating for you.

SVB is no joke! After years of struggle, I’ve completely switched from growing any squash family except Cucurbita Moschata because it’s more resistant to SVB infestation. Need zucchini? I’m growing Aehobak and Tromboncino. Pumpkins? I’m growing Calabaza. Winter Squash? Shishigatani & Butternut.

You need BT spray. Spray the whole vine once a week and every time it rains. Do all your brassicas as well. Problems seriously gone.
