I remember from childhood my family traditionally celebrated birthdays with a fresh fruit cake with almonds on the side. Very similar to the picture I’ve attached, but wider and shorter, with a candy/chocolate banner saying “happy birthday”.
Any idea where I could something like this? Family called it “Black Forest” cake, but I’m pretty sure it’s not.

I feel like I’ve seen similar at the HEB bakery.
Central Market or Upper Crust
Whole Foods has a very similar cake, but not exact same.
Centralmarket’s Strawberry shortcake is super similar! Almonds on the sides and whipped cream & sliced strawberries in layers on the inside! It’s just missing the other fruits which I’m sure you could just toss on top and it would be even more DELICIOUS!
Tous Les Jours. There’s one on Lamar next to Hanyang Market, and another in H Mart
Also sounds like a Hummingbird cake might fit what you want? Might.
Found the original/what I was talking about, a “Swiss Madrisa” cake made by The Black Forest Bakery in Dallas.

Chantilly cake from Whole Foods?
I always called this the Strawberry shortcake, you can usually find them in Asian bakeries. Tous les jours’ cloud cake would be close. Paris Baguette’s mixed berry soft cream cake is also another option. If Whole Foods is more your jam, go for their Berry Chantilly cake.
HEB’s Heavenly Delight cake is this type of vanilla cake with a whipped cream style frosting and a variety of fresh fruit. Some come with pineapple and strawberries only, some have the whole shebang with kiwi and blueberries
Paris baguette usually has fruit cakes like this but they are pretty light and airy
