So the CSC Pay app which I use to do my laundry in my apartment emailed me a gift card code from Hello Fresh. These are the terms:
*$245 Offer only valid for new customers with qualifying auto-renewing subscription purchase. 25 Free Meals, Free Shipping + 3 Surprise Gifts offer is based on a total discount applied over a 8-week period for a two-person, four-recipe subscription. Shipping fee applies on all deliveries after the first box. Discount may vary for other meal plans and sizes. ‘3 surprise gift’ offer available after the purchase of your 4th, 6th and 8th boxes(total approx. value of three gifts). Not valid on premiums, meal upgrades, add-ons, taxes or shipping fees. May not be combined with gift cards or any other promotion. No cash value. Void outside the U.S. and where prohibited. Offer cannot be sold or otherwise bartered. HelloFresh has the right to end or modify any offer at any time. Additional restrictions may apply. See https://www.hellofresh.com/termsandconditions for more details.*
Now getting a $245 gift card for free seemed way too good to be true, so of course I tried to use it after I applied the code. The first box price went from $78.32 to $30.32 with free shipping. I was hoping that it would obviously work like a gift card and cover the cost entirely. So if that isn’t the case, what the heck is this and is it some sort of scam?

You’ll get that much off just not all at once. It’ll be applied in decreasing percentages over your next 8 weeks of boxes.
