They were ok. There was not lace. Taste wise the patty was just ok. Could use some seasoning to the meat. Even a bit of salt and pepper in the blend would have helped. I would say 6/10 .

I’ve been wondering if they were still around. They helped to reignite the smash burger scene in LA. Respect

Hard disagree. These are one of my favorite smash burgers in the city and have been eating at their stands since the pre-pandemic.
Maybe it was a bad grind, but Tripp uses bacon in the meat for the meat to give it an extra flavor profile.
But sorry to hear you didn’t enjoy.

I gotta agree with the OP, I tried them out once on Palms and Sepulveda back in the day. Just insanely overpriced and just wasn’t a great burger.

The guys who run this pop up are so dope but have to agree the burgers are just okay. Also wish they offered fries or tots as a side rather than chips especially when they are the only easy option at that Ale Works location.

Yeah one of the only bad burgers I’ve had tbh.

Had them twice: Once at Boomtown Brewery and at Los Angeles Ale Works.
Burgers are just ok, the patties could use some seasoning, and one time the grilled onions had a weird bitter flavor. Very small and pricey.

Ludicrous prices

Glad to see I’m not the only one who thinks the burgers are under-seasoned. Tripp use a great meat blend and I think the bacon is meant to replace the salt, but every time I’ve had a burger it’s needed more seasoning.

The bun looks sad

These guys have been on my list for a while, but damn $15 for a double? That’s pretty steep. Burger She Wrote is around the same price. $20+ for a burger, fries and drink is just too much. And I was reading below that Tripp doesn’t even have fries or anything?

Most of these smash burgers give family bbq vibes especially the terrible ass buns. FTW has the same issue. Maybe I just don’t like smash burgers 😂

An old guy said to me recently…
“Smash burgers are just a hyped up way to give your generation less meat for your money.”
I can’t get it out of my head that he might just be right.

Y’all are tripping, they are very good burgers.
Go back to the counter if you want some giant patty and no substance

1. Season more 2. cost less 3. Profit
But yeah, do it. Anxious overweights await 🥸

15 for a double? Some friends and I were talking about a future maybe 2/3 generations down the line where America becomes skinny again as portions get lower and prices get higher. Lol

Those burgers are whatever The main guy running it is an asshole sometimes.
