Serious question: which restraunt/traylor has the best homemade tortillas in Austin. (Please distinguish between corn 🌽 and flour 🌼)
I’ll go first. 🌽 from Mi Trailita y Mas on Manor Rd. 🌼 from Joe’s Bakery on E. 7th St.

If we’re talking about Mexican food, a flour torilla isn’t actually a genuine Mexican tortilla…it’s basically just another flat bread, not really very different from chapatis, pita, nan, barlengo or any of the many other flat breads of the world. People down in what’s now Mexico “invented” zia maize , what we call corn, and were making tortillas from it before Mexico was Mexico. A flour tortilla may be be nice , fresh and tasty…..but there’s nothing especially Mexican about them.

Moreno bbq has an amazing beef tallow flour tortilla. Super luscious. Rositas flour is good but it gets hard pretty fast.

For corn Con Todo, Nixta, Texsueño if they manage to survive and get back to their full menu, Mercado Sin Nombre if they count
Asador for flour if they still make their own, haven’t been in a long time, also the flour/mesquite one at Con Todo

Not in Austin but Giddings. Chihuahuas has THE BEST BREAKFAST TACOS in the area. They had make the flour tortillas in front of you and by order. All the lovely ladies that cook their look as if they also belong in my family reunion. I haven’t tried the corn but I really only eat flour with breakfast tacos so. It’s a drive but so worth it!

Casa Garcia makes their tortillas fresh and they are great! Especially for a chain.

Unpopular opinion because it’s a chain: Rosa’s.
But also Casa Garcia’s.
Restaurant: Serranos. Fast: Taco Cabana / Rosa’s Tortilla factory.
Maize: Angie’s
Harina: Joe’s Bakery
That picture looks like dog shit. Tacos stuffed with that much filling suck ass.
