
So I’ve never really been into spicy food. Whenever I tried it, it just seemed to burn while completely lacking any actual flavour. Didn’t care for it for decades
…until I went to the “[Disgusting Food Museum](https://disgustingfoodmuseum.com/)” in Malmö 🇸🇪. At the very end of the tour you can sample six hot sauces, starting from supermarket grade hot to six figure SHU stuff. Which (apart from one sauce right in the middle) were surprisingly tasty. Now I would like to give spicy food a real shot, but I have absolutely no idea where to start.
Do I just walk into a specialty shop and work my way up along the shelves? Any recommendations, tricks or tips? I’m really more interested in flavour than bragging rights about SHU or what have you.
