I was invited to a private event two days ago to sample some food from Cena Cantina in Williamsburg and the octopus was so good that I had to come back two days later and get the dish again! Seriously, best octopus dish I’ve ever had. It’s poached for 5 hours and then coated in a crust and grilled and it’s absolutely amazing. Crispy with a slight char on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside. Like, the PERFECT octopus.
I was absolutely floored by this because I didn’t know that octopus could be SO soft. It’s served with a salsa mole and a watercress salad that goes super well with it. I’m probably going to come back to this restaurant regularly just for the octopus! They also just opened 2 months ago so give me some love if you can!
