#13 w/ fries and potato salad and matzo ball soup. I can never leave a deli without grabbing a black & white cookie!

I love Brent’s. Great breakfasts with delicious hash browns. Also love their pastrami and corned beef sammiches.

  2. Brents, a SFV staple!! Breakfast is great and love their black pastrami ruben!!

Brent’s is the second best pastrami sandwich in LA behind Langers. That’s no knock against Brent’s as their sandwiches are absolutely fantastic.

My wife does not like chicken noodle soup but always wants soup when she’s sick. Seeing a picture of that matzo ball soup makes me wonder if she’d like that when sick next time. Will definitely give it a try.

Of course I’ll be ordering a black pastrami reuben for myself

Unpopular but I think Brent’s is decent but it’s not drive all the way out to Northridge good.

Sometimes less is more. Key to a good sandwich is ratio. I would take out 2/3 of the pastrami here. Langer’s > Brent’s

Brent’s is a classic, specifically for their matzo ball soup and pastrami sandwiches. They also do a stellar job with their other meats, as well as their steak cut fries.

overpriced, and ridiculous, really last time I had a beef dip sandwich it was small as hell and they gave me very little Aj, Really they are a rip off. on the meat in their sandwiches. What you should do is get the meat to go and make your own at home, they will still charge you an arm and a leg for the meat but at least you can make yourself a real sandwich.

yooooo!!! and how was the black and white cookie!!

As a jewish person growing up in the sfv this was the go to for special occasions. My move has always been the chinese marble cookie, way more flavour than a black and white cookie imo

What does a pastrami and fries set you back?

Canters All Day, and Marvs was the shit until it closed. My family has been in the basin for generations and my grandma always took me to Canters so I have a soft spot for them. I know people are gonna talk shit but sometimes a place just gives you a feeling of home. I miss that woman every day. She took me all over LA and gave me a deep love of that city and pride. From Taquitos to beef dips she took me everywhere. Now I bring my family to the same spots.
