

So I live in the epi-center of vintage Atlas canning jar country
You can find these in surprising amounts at flea markets, estate sales and yard sales.
But RARELY do you find a “13 jar”
Each Atlas jar has a mold number on the bottom.
Back in the days of moonshiners who’s main delivery option was in pint and quart jars; the Shiners would pitch /break the “13 jars” because they were “unlucky”.
So there are not many of them. If you come across an Atlas 13 jar…. You have found a rare treasure

Ooo, I’m going to check mine. I love my Atlas jars although i mostly use them for drinking jars nowadays
