For a nice homestyle cafe try Cafe 290 in Manor. Great price for breakfast and they have great basic waffles.

Same story at the new “Breakfast Bar” which room over victory grill on 11th.. chicken and waffles for $17 +tip basically came with half of one chicken breast and the worst waffle I’ve had.. basically the thickness of an eggo waffle but much softer like a pancake and a tad bigger so it could look like it filled the plate..
