Crispy charred roasted brussel sprouts are a delicious side dish that can be prepared quickly and easily to pair up with your favorite main course. Join Eric from Simply Elegant Home Cooking as he demonstrates his take on this classic recipe! One of the keys to getting a great brussel sprout is to use high heat which allows the exterior to char. The char will give your brussel sprouts a ton of extra flavor. Also, be sure to preheat your sheet pan as Eric demonstrates in this video. This dish can be dressed up by adding bacon, fresh thyme, or shallots so feel free to experiment with yours but today Eric will just be adding a little bit of a high quality, thick, aged balsamic vinegar.

Ingredients:
-1 pound brussel sprouts
-4 tablespoon good olive oil
-1 teaspoon aged balsamic vinegar
-salt and pepper to taste

Directions:
-Rinse and dry the brussel sprouts thoroughly.
-Preheat the oven to 425 degree f and place your sheet pan in the oven so that it preheats as well.
-Cut the ends off the brussel sprouts and cut them in half.
Place the brussel sprouts in a large bowl, add the olive oil, salt, and pepper and mix thoroughly.
-Once oven is preheated, pour the brussel sprouts onto the hot sheet pan and use a pair of tongs to turn all of the brussel sprouts so that they’re cut side down.
-Cook the brussel sprouts in the oven for 18-20 minutes or until nicely charred on the cut side.
-Turn the brussel sprouts, and cook another 6-8 minutes.
-Remove brussel sprouts from the oven, drizzle with a small amount of the balsamic vinegar, and stir to evenly incorporate.
-Serve and enjoy!

  9. How long do you roast Brussels sprouts for? I haven’t watched the video yet but I’ve been researching this in google and I can’t find that answer.

  10. By the time I flipped every one of them the pan had cooled, so the result didn't look like yours in the video.
