Hey all,

I recently found Wang’s Udon noodles and was shocked at how good the macros were for the amount of food. I went to buy more today and was surprised to see that the number of calories on the nutrition label were nearly 3x the old package. The only difference between the packages that I can find are a couple extra ingredients in the new package. Any idea what’s going on?

The old one shows wrong carbohydrate contents and calories, and it is correct now. The noodles are made of wheat powder, so major components should be carbohydrate.

If you look at the carbohydrate amounts the calorie difference looks like it is coming from there. It does seem odd though given how much is identical with the original. Maybe one was a mis-print.

  3. The ingredients are different – new one adds corn starch as well as propylene glycol and ethanol which would all add calories.

If they seem like they are pretty much the same it’s just a misprint. Happens all the time, don’t overthink it.
