Making tater tots at home is easier than you think. Skip the freezer aisle and follow along as Nicole shows you how to make the crispiest, homemade tater tots! This stovetop recipe uses boiled and grated russet potatoes to make a batch of crispy and easy to make tots that beat the taste of the frozen ones. After grating and tossing with flour, salt, parsley, pepper, and onion powder, roll the gratings into the shape of tater tots. Once rolled, fry the bite-sized snacks in peanut oil until they’re golden brown.

  1. Great idea, Nicole and thanks for the tutorial! I am tempted to make them and after rolling, spritz with a light spray of oil and pop them in the air fryer. Wonder if that would be acceptable and save some calories? My Ninja gets things really crisp so I will give it a try! Thanks again for the great idea!

  2. I've always wanted to make my own, now I can. I will. I will No more buy frozen from the store. Sorry Ore Ida. 😢🥔

  4. This channel won't be so successful if it wasn't for you.
You are so cute and funny. I love the way you explain the recipies. This channel have recipies with another woman's, not the same. You have something on you that makes people like the recipies. If I see a recipe that I like and a scrunch chef is explaining it, I turn it off. For me, the success of any recipe depends on who is explaining the process. Thank you.

  5. These do look delicious, but where are you shopping that they only let you buy one bag of tots at a time?? Tots are always in the grocery store freezer in my neck of the woods.

  6. OH YYYEEEAAAHHH!! I LOOOOVE me some tater tots and yours look DEEE-LICIOUS!! I esp am DIGGIN your easy recipe. I will be making them for sure. YUMMY!!! Arlene

  7. Tater Tots are called 'Potato Gems' in Australia. They also vanished from our supermarket shelves during the Covid-19 pandemic, and have not returned. Something to do with a potato shortage ? … Thank-you for the recipe. ….. I am also thinking of using the techniques learnt here, to make 'Hash Browns', ( which will be shallow fried ).

  8. You must of cooked the store bought tots from frozen. Thaw them before cooking in oil, they will be as crispy as homemade

  9. I'm impressed with your effort, and to make it even better, I'd like to invite you to send KHAL one of your own cooking tutorial videos.

  10. Thank you for getting it to the point and yes they look great 👍 I'll be watching you all the time now thanks again 😊
