INGREDIENTS:
For The Sauce:
🔹 2 tablespoons Extra virgin olive oil
🔹 1 large yellow onion, halved and thinly sliced (half moons)
🔹 2 large garlic cloves, minced
🔹 1 (28-ounce) can whole peeled tomatoes (I use whole san Marzano tomatoes)
🔹 2 teaspoons dried oregano
🔹 Black pepper
🔹 2 pounds white fish filet, such as halibut or cod
🔹 Kosher salt and black pepper
🔹 1 teaspoon dried oregano
For The Fish:
🔹 Kosher salt
🔹 ½ teaspoon dried oregano
🔹 1 teaspoon sweet paprika
🔹 ½ teaspoon ground cumin
🔹 2 lemons, divided
🔹 ¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped

  1. I would definitely make this, but with much less salt. We have to watch our sodium intake in this household. But with the tomatoes, onions, and parsley, and spices (not to mention the citrus!), it should be quite flavorful enough without salt. I'd serve with a nice loaf of crusty bread for sopping up the sauce!

  3. This is a traditional dish in the north Albania in Shkodra called carp casserole, which is known for this dish. it's made ONLY with CARP fish. This is not a Greek dish, anyway its really tasty but needs a lot more garlic and bay leaf, also.
