Almost certainly Bar Raval. They have tuna belly conserva on their menu for $25.00, so I assume thatâs what she ordered and misunderstood it as tuna tartare. I could be wrong though.
Iâm a fan of tinned fish, so this doesnât seem sinful to me lol.

Bar Raval and Bar Isabel both have dishes like this, but the canned seafood is significantly fancier than what you’d find at a fortinos in the canned seafood section. Think one of those twelve dollar cans you might see at a specialty Spanish grocery store. Add the chips, and restaurant markup, and thirteen it fourteen dollars of food cost turns into 25 on the menu.
CNE prices are much more outrageous.

The tinned fish is conservas, not even the same category as the trash canned fish we buy at the grocery store for $3.
Itâs the freshest stuff, caught daily, cooked and canned (conserved) the same day. Think stuff like tuna belly, octopus, sardines, squid, etc⊠in high quality olive oil, tomato sauces, etc⊠Itâs very popular and well respected in Portugal and Spain. A tin (about 120g of protein) will cost you about $15-20 in Toronto at a specialty store, or around 7-10 euros in those countries. This lady just doesnât know shit about food.

People pay $30 for pasta, just pointing that out.

Some Canned Food is very high quality; just because it is in a can doesnât mean its crap. Right now, for example, Japan is going through a massive canned food boom and a lot of that food is delicious!

I have a tin of the same brand of conservas in my cupboard and $25 in a bar/restaurant isn’t even that far off from what you pay for it in specialty shops.

Lol. Foie gras also mostly comes in cans and âconservasâ aka preserved in can ranges from 0.99$ to hundreds and hundreds of dollars as caviar would be under the same umbrella.
Blogto doing thier blogto stuff.

Surely the bar could’ve served house-made potato chips instead of serving ones from a bag.

This person didnât know what Spanish tapas is, and proceeds to be ignorant.
Imagine when the idiot tries sashimi⊠âwe went to this Japanese place and ordered fish, but they just gave me a few pieces of uncooked fish with some soy sauce and charged me $25!!! WTFâ
