Saj bread is somewhat similar to markook shrek, but is much thinner and larger.A perfect bread for your arabic or Saudi shawarma.Saj bread (Arabic: خبز الصاج‎) Traditionally It is baked on a convex metal griddle (a saj) or in a tannour. This dough is unleavened and i made it with only flour, water, sugar and salt, and after kneading divided into round portions, (no need to leave for rest) flattened until it is thin then flipped onto the back of a woke (karahi) Simple as that;

ingredients:
all purpose flour 3 cup
sugar 1 tbsp
salt 1/2 tbsp
oil 1 tbsp
lukewarm water for kneading
knead a soft dough with water.
dough shouldn’t too soft or too hard.
divide the dough in 11 equal parts.
make round balls.
roll each ball very thin as shown in video ,as thin as you can.
heat the back of a woke.
cook on medium flame from both sides.
wrap in kitchen towel.
use when needed.

  1. Thank you so much for posting!! I have the recipe but have not successfully made this yet. I am going to try one more time. I think now that I've watched it being made I'll have a better chance of it turning out right.
