A whole burrata pizza pie at L’Industrie for dinner for when you had the case of the “extreme munchies”. Looking forward to coming back again if possible! Sorry if photos aren’t great.

***(Side Q: Anything else worth checking out at L’Industrie, or other pizzerias of note in Williamsburg? Already went to Roberta’s (was meh), Fini (awesome, but pricey, have to share pics here soon), I’m aware of Singas since there’s one in NJ, Upside Pizza and Williamsburg Pizza are also meh, Vinnie’s is just ok, not a fan of Joe’s pizza, loathe Artichoke Basile’s, to name a few).***
____
**Who** went: Just myself, as always.
**What** is it: All photos were of their whole burrata pie (iirc pizzas here are 18”), one of their signature classics: tomato sauce, mozzarella, and heaping dollops of creamy burrata. Depending on the wait after ordering, takes ~10-20 minutes to make a whole pie. Costs 33$ for this whole pizza (+ 1$ box fee/surcharge), or 5,50$ a slice (plenty of people grab 2), or after tax, around 38$, so that’s probably my upper limit on how much I’d want to spend for a whole pizza in the city, even though it’s around the same price point for other reputable pizzerias in Williamsburg. I also had a couple bottles of Poland spring water + Brooklyn Best Tea, so the drinks (3 waters, 1 can of tea) since it was hot & I was parched were another ~8$ after tax.
**When** was this: Last Friday, (25 August 2023), early evening (7 to 7:45PM, although I’ve waited outside since 6:15PM) after walking most of the way from Ample Hills Creamery in Prospect Heights, since I’ve did a coin flip, and went with L’Industrie as the second option for a meal, and besides, walking to Williamsburg wasn’t a big deal. Although I’ve had pizza a few times from L’Industrie for events & knew a bit about them already, in all my years, I’ve never actually sat down inside (or out) and enjoyed pizza here. Reason one: ***the crowds***, as by the time I’ve arrived at L’Industrie, it was 6:15PM, and it was full of people inside (mostly to order), outside the sidewalk, seated inside the outdoor dining shack with their own families/friends/loved ones, and the line even wrapped around the corner, so if I was here, I was going to *stay* here. Almost reminds me of the brunch crowds at Clinton Street Baking Company, yes if you have time to kill, waiting upwards to an hour *just to get seated* at a table for pancakes is ok, but not something you should do all the time. I’ve scouted out where to sit: can’t sit inside the dining shack unfortunately since I was shy, and really didn’t know anyone (also didn’t want to bother anyone while I’ve shot photos), couldn’t eat outside since there’s no chairs & less than desirable conditions, so I’ve had to wait to sit inside. 25 minutes later, I’ve ordered & asked if it’s ok if I ate inside since I didn’t know anyone (it was) + around 3-5 seats inside, and I was still a bit hungry after the two ice cream sundaes I’ve had from Ample Hills, so no gelato this occasion to end that with (also on my to-do list for here), and what I’ve wanted was a whole burrata pie, for here since one way or another I was going to invest maybe 2 hours tops here. The female employee said “Alright, good luck with that. Let me know if you want anything for takeout”.
**Where** is this: L’Industrie Pizzeria, in the heart of Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Open since 2017, it’s been a popular spot for pizzas in Williamsburg, open at noon, closes at 10PM. There’s an outdoor dining shack (wonder how that’ll turn out in offseason from December-March), some indoor seating where you can see the open kitchen & where the cheeses & dough are prepped in a separate area. Pizzas can be served both as slices or whole pies, and pricing is comparable with other spots in Brooklyn. Menu options range from the classics (tomato pie, margherita, pepperoni), to their own signature items, sandwiches, house made Italian desserts (gelato, olive oil cake, bombelone). There’s even beer & wine (cups/bottles) for people who’d want it. Plan ahead to dine there as unless if it’s a quiet time, you can and will wait a while. See more at: **[Their Info](https://www.lindustriebk.com/)**, **[L’Industrie’s Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/lindustriebk)**.
**Why** did you go here & snap photos this occasion: Felt like a good time than any to go to L’Industrie and have pizza (event food & takeout’s one thing, sitting for a meal’s different), and as mentioned before, I was waiting for nearly half an hour just to be served/have my order taken, so at that point, I’ve wanted a whole pizza to myself to eat & let loose a little bit that night. Yeah, it did feel a bit awkward being “that guy” and eating a whole pizza inside while others were either gossiping, looking on, asking me questions on what I’m doing/my job in general/my opinion on the pizza/food plans after this/so on, but I didn’t mind, and yeah, it’s one of those good/bad moments doing these things by yourself, and I wouldn’t mind sharing (both the pizza, and the moment) with someone if possible. Presentation of the pizza was alright (piping hot, *huge*), and it was fun seeing the food actually made in person in front of you. Burrata was a nice contrast from the already hot pizza, just not something you’d want to have if the pizza’s gradually getting colder. Spent about 40 minutes both snapping photos of the pizza, then taking my sweet time eating, ate just about everything (except some crust) and left around 7:50Pm. I did joke with the employees that I’ve wanted a gelato, but yeah, that pizza was it for tonight. Tipped them the cost of the pizza to show appreciation for the food & chance to take photos + make amends if I took “too long” and husked it over to the subway, back to NJ. Also yeah, late night crowds at L’Industrie didn’t stop too. For sure I’ll try to make time & hold an appetite for gelato, and another full pizza pie. Hopefully next time I can go, I can enjoy more, even bring a friend along.
**Gear used**: Sony A7R IV camera, 90mm f/2,8 G macro lens, x1 Lume Cube 2.0 Light Panel, 1 SmallRig mini tripod as a makeshift light stand. Didn’t do much since it was crowded + didn’t want to bother anyone & photos look tight, but made due with the conditions.

Blows my mind every time I see people that think this is overrated.
My new trustworthy radar is asking if they like Fini or L’Industrie. Works everytime.

Hands down one of my favorite places. I prefer to go during off peak hours to really enjoy myself.

My fav spot. Whenever I say should I make the trip over there or eat somewhere else, I settle on making the trip because my pizza taste has forever been spoiled by L’Industrie 🥲😋
