Now I get to strip the rust and repaint. After that she gets lavalock gaskets, latches, smokestack extention and interior lowering elbow. Interior will be coated in flax oil to season and I should be good to go!

Sounds good. Jealous, never fall into a deal like that. Show us your first smoke. Congrats!

I have the same one, where you getting all the mods from?

I bought mine used for $250. I didn’t realized how expensive those tuning plates are or any of the other mods. I basically paid for the sellers mods and got a free cooker

    wow what a steal

i would add some sort of digital temperature controller. keeping those at a set temperature is a PIA manually

    Great deal.

I wouldn’t even repaint it! Strip it and just season the bare metal.

Literally have the same model. 100$ is a wonderful price.

I paid 310$ + taxes for mine (got it new).

I love mine, but if you don’t have access to wood by the cord, I highly discourage against it.

Basically you’re going to be adding 3-4 splits every 40 minutes, and leave the lid open on the smoke box to turn ash on the outside every hour until desired doneness.

At Walmart, it’d cost me about $20 to do a 8-12 hour smoke maybe. A truckload is $50 from the wood splitter, and that’s a dozen or 3 smokes.

  9. I have a pellet smoker but also have rust/flaked off paint that needs taken care of. I know I need to sand the rust and loose paint off before I can spray paint the area, but I’m wondering if you have recommendations on products to use for the job as this will be my first time and I definitely don’t want to screw it up at all.
