I was given 17 big bags of fresh chicken manure a few years ago when a chicken house closed. it was ripe! It’s not just fresh horse poo that burns plants – mine were unhappy for about six months but the following year my bean harvest was amazing

Emma i remember in a video you saying there's a mad lady putting cardboard down on the ground and she was watering it but u didn't know why 😊. I commented saying why she was doing it. 😅😅😅.
I add horse manure to a barrel of water, let it soak for some weeks and it makes a great liquid fertilizer.

Hi Emma I am brand new to allotment life, can you please explain in a video how to make the covering with the piping for cabbages etc please?
Also where can I get manure please?
If you have an area of unwanted weeds and grass, can you dig it up and turn them over instead of pulling them all out?
You really need to know if the manure is free from herbicides and pesticides. Americans have had problems with Grazon, a herbicide farmers use to kill weeds in their field crops. It gets in the hay and the straw – horses get fed it and their manure can have it in it. It will kill your garden (except for corn or grass)😢

Great advice Emma, my guinea pigs give me absolutely fantastic manure when I clean out their house, straight on the compost pile and nothing wasted 😊

Compost question- so sort of related! Can I put weeds and grass in my compost heap? My head says I can, but I'm still not sure 😂
Plot inspection? Interesting… i have never heard anyone talking about inspections. Perhaps you could do a video about it?
