Ingredients
2 and 1/2 – 3 pounds top sirloin steak, cubed
1 onion
3-4 bell peppers
1 and 1/2 teaspoons salt (or to taste)
freshly cracked black pepper to taste
The Marinade:
1/2 cup olive oil
1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
4 garlic cloves, grated
2 teaspoons dried oregano
Serve with tzatziki sauce
Instructions
Combine all of the marinade ingredients in a bowl and whisk together. Set aside
Cut the steak into about 1 and 1/2 (4cm) inch cubes and place them into a large bowl. Season with salt and black pepper and pour the marinade on top. Toss together and allow the meat to marinate for at least an hour or in the refrigerator overnight.
If using wooden skewers, soak them in water an hour ahead of grilling.
Cut the onions and bell peppers about the same size as the beef.
Thread the meat and veggies onto the skewers.
Heat the grill over medium-high. Brush the grates with oil.
Grill the skewers about 4 minutes per side or until the meat is cooked as desired.
Brush the skewers with the marinade before changing sides.
Transfer the skewers to a platter. Allow them to rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Serve the beef skewers with toasted bread and tzatziki.

Hello Dimitra,
Thank you once again for another amazing recipe and youโre easy to follow videos.
Iโve been wanting to make beef souvlaki for weeks and itโs unbelievable you made this video at this time๐๐ I wasnโt sure if I should use garlic or just like the street food in Greece with no garlic. Both ways are gonna be awesome Iโm sure. I love garlic , but wasnโt sure if I wanted the garlic flavour. Youโve made up my mind for me๐ this recipe looks amazing.
Thank you again Dimitra, canโt wait to try it your way. Have a wonderful evening and I canโt wait to see more of your videos๐
All I could think is, but this is a guy thing. Great advice. I'm Happy now. Your recipes and methods never disappoint.

Sweet Dimitroula mou! I will try to make these beef souvlakia. Yes I do remember those souvlaki carts on Steinway St and Ditmars in Astoria, NY growing up.
Most of the carts in astoria use pork
Thank you so much for explaining everything so good ๐
Loveโคyour dishes!!
Your spanakopita recipe is #1๐๐ผ
Thank you, Dimitra.
Hi Dimitra, I grew up in Astoria also so I know EXACTLY what you mean. This is taking me back home! The memories are so vivid I can almost taste the souvlaki! My mouth is watering! ๐ Thank you for sharing this recipe so I can make them myself and relive the yummy memories of living in Astoria! ๐๐คโค

Dimitra, you are an incredible home chef! Ise koukla!
My family and I have used your delicious recipes, and this one we'll use for this weekend dinner party. Every recipe is so clearly described and the outcome here at home is previsely what your videos show. We look forward to your daily offering!
Nope Sorry never been to Astoria NY, just show us your Recipe so the Greeks in Southern California can tell me what's up.
Mmmm, I can smell those souvlaki now! I remember visiting my cousins in Astoria, during the summer months, and eating from the carts or at one of the Greek restaurants. ๐
Oh yes please. My favourite snack when in Crete ๐
Those look absolutely delicious.
โค your recipe, thank you โฃ๏ธ. My husband grew up in Astoria and he used to take me to Lagulis bakery that had the best Italian ices ever tasted!
I bought a cheap shashlik/kebab grill for about $50 it works perfect as the end of the Skewers dont get burning hot and you don't have to worry about your meat or veggies sticking to your grates. Plus it's portable so you can take it to the beach or park. Still going strong after 7 years of use
I like to marinate the meat overnight with the Onions, and Peppers. Surprising how much flavour it adds.
I must say that you certainly have the Audrey Hepburn vibe ala My Fair Lady today! What a delight. and I am thrilled to learn your version of souvlaki. Couldn't agree more about grilling!! Not by me!!
For SURE going to be doing this recipe!
I made these for dinner tonight and they were delicious. My husband did the grilling. I also made your Tzatziki which was lovely and I just used all Greek yogurt. A wonderful meal. My husband was happy to get some red meat for a change. Thanks!
I'm making this tomorrow night. After I watched this a few weeks ago I was lucky to score some 3" thick ribeyes for $8/lb so that's what I'll be using. I can't wait!

Your recipes are phenomenal. Love it!
My Mom used to take me to the Continental in Seattle for the best souvlaki ever! He would serve it on pita with grated feta and a tomato slices I used to cut down further and split up throughout my dining experience- it was so freaking good..
I made the souvlaki last Monday for 5 of us. They were from Sweden, Germany and the USA. Everone loved it. One guest can't stop talking about it. We had Greek red wine with it. Also good feta, your tzatziki and dome nice bread.
For dessert I made a lemon verbena custard and also three sorbets: white, red and black current sorbet. These ingredients came from my garden.
