
I found this recipe at a west coast college extension and it calls for 3-4 quarts of clams and liquid. Does this mean canned clams or can you use that quantity of fresh harvested/cooked?

to my mind “3 or 4 quarts cleaned, chopped clams with juice” means fresh uncooked clams, chopped, with their natural juices.
