Sorry to see Austin’s original gluten-free café Wilder Wood Restaurant & Bar on East 7th is suddenly closing.
Owner posted a GO Fund Me ([https://www.gofundme.com/f/the-wilder-family-farewell](https://www.gofundme.com/f/the-wilder-family-farewell)) and says Sunday is the last day in business. I had dinner at the bar there a few months ago, the staff was friendly and hustled their best but appearances felt like a bar rescue story in the making.

A Gluten-A-Go-Go location is opening up there.
Not terribly surprised I guess I walk past there all the time and never seen it busy
That location seems a bit cursed tbh
Omg !!!
I’m so curious what NYC restaurant (or maybe restauranteur?) is taking over. Anyone have intel?
I ate there a couple months back and it just ok. Also, we bought cake slices that was so dry it was inedible and they were 7.00 each.
It was a fantastic idea and some of the food was really quite tasty, but the place was always ran very chaotically. It seemed underfunded or at least understaffed almost the entirety of the time we went there. GF calamari was tasty. Didn’t have any real anchors on the menu or fantastic personalities as wait staff. Everything was just kind of okay, which certainly doesn’t work with such awesome competition on the Eastside. This concept with better execution could still be a real profit driver in Austin.
Finally getting that Sbarro Pizza!
NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! Where am I going to get my GF fried mushrooms now?
