Every once in a while I drop into Double Dave’s when the Pizza of the Month sounds interesting. This month it’s Nashville Chicken.
The chicken, red onion, cheddar, and sauce is pretty good if not all that different from a BBQ Chicken pizza. It also has bread and butter pickles, which I don’t hate but I don’t think I’d ever voluntarily choose as a topping. Just too sweet, and the hot sauce isn’t all that hot. So I’d call this more of a Sweet BBQ pizza than Nashville hot. But I ate the whole thing in one sitting and for $12 I can’t really complain.
Anyone had one of these monthly specials they really loved?
Also, I asked about the buffet situation and the employee said one of the ownership groups is bringing them back to their locations. But the DD’s on Metric is owned by a different group that still isn’t doing buffets. Don’t hold your breathe for it coming back soon.
Saw the old Dr Pepper sign in the dining room and wondered if there’s a tie between the owner of this location and Green Mesquite Barbecue?

I haven’t missed a Pizza of the Month from DoubleDave’s in a while. I liked the Street Taco of a few years ago. The Big Dill (pickle pizza) from this past April was enough of a surprise hit that we’ve recreated it a few times at home.

For me there was no better monthly special than Colt’s Queso, but I think they got rid of it. A runner up for me was the Naughty Dave.

Does all Double Dave’s pizza have this as their pizza of the month? I live close to one off W William Cannon and never tried it. After seeing this my mouth is watery and will probably buy this during my lunch

Double Dave’s quality has significantly gone down in my opinion. Prices went up and the food just doesn’t hit as good as it used to 🤷🏽♀️

There was (is?) one with shrimp on it, think it was called the Lieutenant Dan. That one was very good.
