How to make plantains or green fried bananas. 🍌🍌

Try to find thick green bananas. Cut ends off and slice the peel down the middle. Cut in to 1/2 inch pieces. Fry them until golden brown on both sides take them out of the oil let them cool for a minute or two, smash them down until the are round and flat and put them back into the oil and add salt to taste.

  1. You said it wrong, your plantains aren't about to go bad they're about to ripen. Plantains can be cooked at any stage of ripeness. But this isn't about to go bad, it doesn't matter where you come from, a ripe plantain is when its yellow; Cuban or not.

  2. About to go bad, they just came off the tree 😂 But seriously all jokes aside, they start at green, then go yellow and then brown. Try cooking them when they get in-between the yellow and browning part. They are so much better and sweet. Never cook green plantains, they're tooooo ripe.

  3. Green plantains about to go "bad"? I've heard it all and I know when you make tostones the plantains are supposed to be "green" but change your vocabulary because even Cubans are laughing at you.

  4. Bro please pronounce it correctly it’s pronounced (Plantin) okay ? Mountain is pronounced mountin fountain is pronounced (fountin) so why would it change ? And they bout to ripen up not go bad ain’t you heard of plátano maduro it’s sweeter and not for everybody but it’s a very normal cuisine 😂

  5. You suck girlfriend! That's half the process, it's not just smashed plantain, where's the garlic and olive oil sauce. Sorry but why there's a white chick teaching how to cook PR food 😂 she sounds like Gordon Ramsey showing how to make pegao 😂

  6. If your not using a plantain because it’s not green you are either picky or ignorant.

  7. I hear you can use 3 tbsp vinegar and 1/2 cup water and tsp salt before it's about to fry again

  8. Everyone is going in on her based on her semantics. Maybe when she said, “about to go bad” she meant they are approaching a stage of development past when she likes to use them. For her, keeping them green and firm might be her preferred way to eat them. Maybe she doesn’t want them sweet or perhaps, at the ripened or very ripe stage, she develops and allergy or physical intolerance (I do with tomatoes). Lay off and use your energy for something within yourself you need to correct. OAN, I personally enjoyed this video and have 2 plantains on my counter that are “about to go bad” also so I will use this technique. 🙌🏾
