Chef Dom shares Daddy Jack’s New England Clam Chowder recipe, but with added bacon. This was a very popular soup at the restaurant and enjoyed by many, many patrons. New England Clam Chowder normally includes clams, potatoes, onions, salted pork and heavy cream. The addition of dairy is the main difference from other clam chowders. New England Clam chowder was first eaten by folks in the 1700s and is a true American staple.

Happy Cooking!

  2. I too am a spoon slammer haha. This looks great, definitely going to make it. I remember watching Daddy Jack videos he always liked a little tarragon in his chowders. Wish I could have gotten to the restaurants you guys worked at together I bet the food was incredible

  5. Hey guys, just wondering where you buy your canned clams, I live in New England but can't find decent canned clams?

  6. I too still miss Jack Chaplin😢 Today I finally got around to making this clam chowder…followed recipe to a “T” and it turned out great. Every recipe I’ve tried after watching the BB’s has been delicious. For this recipe I actually tracked down the Seawatch clams that they used and they were fantastic…best canned clams I’ve ever had! It is a 51 oz. can and I made 1/2 recipe and froze the rest of the clams for later use. I got mine on Amazon but they are often sold at restaurant supply chains (GFS) in the Midwest. Thanks again boys for another palate-pleaser!

  7. 100 gallons per week? wow, that means you served at least 1k person per week with just clam chowder, that's impressive

  8. Hello guys, I just made this clam chowder, and it was Amazing! It's probably one of the best chowder 's I've had. The only thing that I added was some tyme. I'm new to your channel, but have looked at the majority of your recipes. They look great. I come from an italian family as well and definitely miss my grandparents' cooking. But fortunately, they passed on some recipes to me . Keep up the good work and the recipes coming.

  9. I made your chowder and it was FABULOUS thanks to you! Quick question. Can you give me the brand of clams you used?
I am so impressed with your recipes

  10. Jack's favorite potato was the Yukon Gold.
    Does the variety matter?
    Yours look like baking potatoes.
    That looks great!

  11. What the freak is wrong with spoon-banging?! My mother did it all her cooking years, she taught me at her apron strings, and we both spoon-banged all our cooking lives, with no detriment. She was a southern classics cook whose reputation spread somewhat among my friends, and they would find reasons to sleep over or just come by to pick me up just to eat her cooking. Also, her sweet iced tea was legendary. Stop hating on the little things that don't matter a hill of beans. Spoon-banging meant less cleanup on the stove and the spoon rest.

  12. So before I found your recipe I watched 6 other one's. I was pretty tired today after work but this Greek still trooped on and watched every step while you were making it. I have been from the coast of Maine to the coast of Florida I order clam chowder at every restaurant that has it.
And BRAVO TO YOU because your recipe is the BEST CLAM CHOWDER I have ever eaten EVER!!! I loved that every spoonful you got clams and chunks of potatoes the flavor is incredible I added the perfect amount of flour and the thickness while it was cooking was PERFECT!!! Again thank you CHEF I'm going to cook every recipe you put out.
God Bless you and your family and thank's again this recipe is the BEST CLAM CHOWDER IN THE UNITED STATE'S and I am sticking to that!

  13. I thought you weren’t supposed to add the clams until close to the end because I’m going to overcook and get tough?

  14. Chef Dom I finally made your recipe for clam chowder. I have always loved clam chowder but I didn’t feel that I made it very well. I followed your directions to the tee. I took it over to my grandson and he’s a tough food critic. He said your clam chowder was “Amazing” As always Thanks for sharing

  15. Fantastic video! Most cooking segments are so sterile. In this one, they add in the family element, which is a beautiful thing.

Food is all about coming together in camaraderie and friendship. This nails it.

Not to mention the excellent recipe!
