Menu should really say what’s in their “burgers”.
Last time I was there, the owner’s wife tried to sell me Arbonne products.
I tried to eat there once. After we had been seated for 20 minutes, I had to get up and ask the host to get someone to come take our order. After we placed our order, we sat for 45 more minutes without a table touch from anyone. At that point we had somewhere to be, would have had to take our food to go even if it had been ready. We ultimately just got up and walked out to get quick takeout elsewhere. There was no one paying enough attention to ask us why we were leaving or if anything was wrong. Haven’t been back.
I think you’re the first person I’ve heard say they enjoyed that spot outside of yelp/google.
I’m not vegan but didn’t like my meal there. My vegetarian/vegan friends and family who’ve eaten there all thought it was mediocre at best
Honestly hope it sticks around for the people who like this kind of place since there aren’t too many of them, but for most folks I think a menu full of fake meat and gluten free pasta and such is a tough sell at this point
I’m sorry but Citizen is awful. I’ve tried it twice and both times were so bad. Brunch and dinner with four people and no redeeming entrees.

I worked there for one day and they said they wouldn’t pay me as it was a “trial run” and finally after I texted the manager for a day reminding them that was illegal the owner cut me a check for minimum wage. Not uncommon in food service, and I’m dumb for doing any labor without getting onboarded, but they can get bent imo.

Vegetarian here. I like their food, but like everyone is saying the service is bad. Also they have served me cold food more than once.
This is the place that posted a time limit for how long you should dine there on their front door. I tried the veggie burger many were raving about and nearly broke a tooth it was so hard. Their portions are also really skimpy. Restaurant biz is rough, but maybe they need to try harder
I love their Brussels sprouts but the one time I did a to go pick up it felt unwelcoming and looked down by the staff and I stopped going.
Sad to hear, but it sounds like they did this to themselves a little bit.
