After moving to the United States, professional baker Stacey Mei Yan Fong created a business and Instagram account called 50 Pies 50 States. In this episode, Stacey heads to New Jersey, which produces the highest number of blueberries each year — some even refer to it as the blueberry capital of the world — to create her next state-themed pie.

  1. I wish everyone gets to live at their chosen homes eventually, be it another state, another country or another continent.
I wish there aren't as many regulations, stigma & tribalism around it despite being in the somewhat globalized world we live in rn.

Nevertheless, she's an amazing host & those pies look incredible, hope she gets her own show!

  2. Q: How many times can you say 'like' in a 12 minute video?
A: An annoying amount of times.

  3. What a terrible country we have, right? 🙄 this woman is the definition of what a real American is. Good for her 🇺🇸

  4. I have a feeling a more accurate pie for some states would be disgusting.
California: Avocado pie with gluten free, sugar free, GMO free, organic, and flavor free crust
Texas: pecan pie with a touch of Dr pepper and a lattice crust in the shape of a confederate flag.
NY: a pie with 5000 ingredients and made in about 20 seconds and has the audacity to sell for $100/slice.
    Florida: pie made from gators.
New Jersey: pie made from salt water taffy and a crust with enough grit to rival Theresa from Housewives of Jersey.
    And finally…
    Idaho: a potato with shame.

  5. Thanks for the video. Don't know if the best blueberry pie can come from farmed strawberries. Wild is the best

  6. Very Stockholm rental apartment style interior design, one would actually think it could be in Sweden. Or it could just be the wooden floor, and absence of the US floorcarpets 😁

  7. The pie looks incredible but the title was misleading. I was hoping for a recipe on “How to make the perfect blueberry pie”. I enjoyed and salivated waiting for that pie to come out of the oven. Looked delicious. I could almost taste it.

  8. On behalf of all lifetime South Dakotans – we would never eat that.

  9. That was a really cool story – her pies look amazing and I’m sure taste as good as they look. I grew up with blueberry pie only having a solid crust, unless there was another, larger fruit with it (like peaches). And historically on my mom’s side of the family, which lived in rural farmland and made most of their food, lard was viewed as making the best crust. To each their own, though. I certainly wouldn’t complain if she sent me a pie!
