After years of waiting, my WokMon came yesterday. This morning, I fired it up. I got the small size, since my 12000 BTU burners are 2 3/4” wide.

The good – it works. I was able to fry sweet potato in minutes.

The bad – it works a little too well for the burners on our Premier Pro Series stove… it burned the paint off the burner and the grate.

The silicone feet setup won’t work with our 6-burner so we used the magnets to boost the grate, and the Wok ring above that on the grate to get the proper distance between the burner and the wok.

Our range hood exhausts best from the back burners but I had to use the front burner as I was worried that the heat coming up the side of the wok would melt the clock on the stove. It’s a good thing I thought about this.

It didn’t occur to me that this would burn the paint off the burner, but here we are. If you’ve got painted burners, you should know that this a possibility.

I’ve been on the fence about getting a WokMon for a while….looks like the size I would need (medium) is back in stock. Is it worth the $85?
