i went there yesterday and the food was *awful* ☹️ both dishes were weirdly wine-heavy, like someone had splashed a half cup on it after plating and didn’t bother to cook it off.

i feel like we may have ordered wrong (puttanesca and lamb special), so people who are fans of fritto – what do you order there?

I always get cream based sauces, but maybe they had a new cook on the line 🙂

I don’t know if they still do the specials since they moved, or maybe it’s on the menu, but the vegetarian (and I’m not vegetarian) lasagna was always my goto there when they offered it.

  3. Is this the Santa Monica location? Because yeah, awful

I don’t even know what I’m looking at

I only order the Mediterrano(?) & light things like linguini & shrimp sautéed in garlic. Sometimes that “Orleans” blackened chicken pasta dish. (From the Hermosa location.) No complaints.

They’re calling that soupy mess “puttanesca”? Yikes.

Their chicken Marsala is really good. I’ve never had a bad meal there

fritto misto used to be my family’s preferred dinner spot, i never thought it was very good tbh but my family ate it up. the cajun chicken was prob the most popular choice.

I don’t know if it’s just me but food at a lot of restaurants has become significantly more expensive while having the quality go to shit. I don’t get it.

There’s another one in the south bay. Never understood the appeal

I always get the the Cajun Chicken or Short Rib Raviolis. It’s been a while, so it’d be a shame if they changed chefs and it sucks now 🙁 I always thought they were great.

The second dish looks like sewage water

Used to get delivery from here ridiculously often — was addicted to their garlic cream sauce and Cajun chicken — something actively happened in the last six months or so and it’s no longer good. Not only no longer good but they also increased their prices. They started doing deliveries from a ghost kitchen in that timeframe so I assumed that was related but sad to hear in person is bad too 🙁

Looks like an AI rendering of dinner.

    That sucks

Haven’t been in many years, but when I last went the food was okay. Didn’t look like this at all.

  17. Their menu doesn’t even indicate which sauces have wine. As someone deathly allergic to alcohol, that freaks me out

Ate there once years ago and hated it

Pesto pillows from the HB location are my comfort food and with extra pine nuts they are amazing. I’ll die on that hill. I don’t know what you ordered but it wasn’t pesto pillows.

So sad. They had a ravioli with sun dried tomato garlic cream sauce that was definitely very ’90s-early ’00s but delicious. It’s where I think I first had a pumpkin ravioli before they were ubiquitous. Not necessarily nonna style Italian or red checkered tablecloth Italian-Am, but a very specific CA viewpoint that felt so cool at the time. All the sauces and pastas that you could combine!

That’s where I had my first date with my my now husband nearly 15 years ago, and one of the last restaurants I ate with my dad while he was alive. I’m sad now to know it’s gone downhill.

Not sure what happened with your dish but I’ve been going to a Fritto in Misto for the past 12 years and always love the food. I mostly only go to the Hermosa one now. The pasta pancetta dish is delicious.

Why is this so messy it looks like it came out of my butthole
