Artichoke is such a crappy plant in terms of how much it gives lol. All that time and effort for lil nubbin of leaves.

Or you can just steam them for half an hour and then peel them and eat the meaty bits off the petals, then when you get to the inside cut out the thistly-bits before you get to the heart. This way Akex is doing it is basically just for presentation. The stems are great steamed too. Dip it in melted butter.

What leaves are left to eat lol don’t need to take all that off
All searches include "jamie oliver", yet your video fails to acknowledge him at all. Further, you waste half the artichoke! A true chef – hell, an amateur chef knows most outer leaves are 1/3 delicious when properly cooked. Finally, your presentation – butchering – destroys most of the globe's magnificent presentation. Very sad indeed. YOU are upbeat, cute, seemingly delightful, but you massacre the beautiful artichoke while luring J Oliver's followers on false pretenses. PLEASE revise – you're cute, just fix this.
Umm, no sorry, but there are MUCH better ways to handle artichokes for cooking and eating.

What is the point in breaking off the stem to get the fibers out of the stem when we steps later cut the center out of the heart anyway?
