Feels like I found the rarest of rare bar finds: a weekend, prime time happy hour at The Cavalier in East Austin. They call themselves New Orleans-meets-East Austin Dive Bar and Scratch Kitchen.
Happy hour specials are the same as during the week, just later on Saturday and Sunday, from 7p-10pm: $2 off snacks, $7 frozen drinks, $1 off some beer & wines.
Got deviled eggs and a hurricane/painkiller mix for $10.
Also had a pretty good Po Boy for $12.
Cool bartender. Pool table, darts, patio seats, dog friendly. Had the UT game on. They’re also a Saints bar. Nice neighborhood place to hang.
