My h-mart was sold out of the usual regular tteokbokki that I buy, so I tried something new (I also tried cheese-filled tteokbokki…not as good, but not bad). These were wheat cakes, and i think I prefer rice cakes more cause these are really chewy. But the rose sauce was so good, it was different than I expected too. Like an Italian pasta sauce but with gochujang and a taste of fish. It’s a fusion that worked unexpectedly well, but you can’t beat regular gochujang tteokbokki, especially cause this rose sauce is pretty sweet…a bit too much maybe
