  1. I'm sure this is still a very nice dish, but without paprika this isn't goulash. Paprika is the key ingredient. It's like making mac n' cheese without cheese, or a hamburger without a patty.

  2. This is not goulash soya sauce don't think so …this is awful ….not my style we make different in new York america

  3. I made this for dinner tonight. It was really good. I did not ad 2 onions i only added half of one, also i added chicken broth instead of water, i also added a can of corn . Because i was out of macaroni noodles i used small shell noodles. I also did not add bay leaves or thyme or soy sauce.

  4. I like it with chicken broth instead of water it just it a very smooth and subtle but savoury taste thanks it turned out amazing

  5. Yes I heard the lady say at the beginning of the video that it is American goulash and not Hungarian.
But there is no such thing as a classic American goulash.
Only Hungarian is a classic goulash. Hungarian goulash is the classic goulash.
This dish is also sure to be delicious. I don't know, but it looks like we've cooked bolognese sauce with macaroni in a big way.
I say, it might be delicious. I never tasted it. But this is not goulash 😘

  6. I just made this. My tweak on it……added a diced green pepper with the meat and onion, added a 14 ounce can of beef broth instead of some of the water for an added depth of flavor. It was very good, however, next time I will only use 1 T of Italian seasoning, as I thought 2 T was just a bit much. But all in all, it was a hit at my house. Enjoy!!!

  7. My husband and I enjoy bigger chunks of tomato. I use two large cans (28 ounces) of whole peeled tomatoes, and break them up as they cook. Sometimes I also add a smaller can of tomato sauce, and water as the mixture is cooking. Generally, my ingredients are the same. The big difference is that I cook it for a few hours, just adding the pasta at the end. The chunks of tomato are WONDERFUL and really not negotiable in our house. (We do the same for homemade spaghetti sauce – gotta have chunks!)

  8. No such thing as American goulash, Originating in Hungary, goulash is a common meal predominantly eaten in Central Europe but also in other parts of Europe. It is one of the national dishes of Hungary and a symbol of the country.

  9. Goulash is not spaghetti. so stop making it that way with your damn garlic. Goulash is not made with spicy green pepper either, it is not meatloaf or chillie or a sour tasting sauce cusine. you are foolishly missing, the key ingredient that seperates Goulash..a part from all the other sauce based cuisine. and that is All Spice (clover) all spice, sweet red pepper, sweet basil, marinara sauce, tomato's and salt & pepper better be in your mix, or it is not Goulash. seasoned salt? holy shit for tastebuds. Goulash is not supossed to taste spicy or salty sour..wrong dish. ok, Goulash is supossed to taste a lil sweet and saucy..but Bold with a hint of allspice.

  10. I followed the directions and added a few twists. And it turned out amazing! Thank you

  11. It’s been a few years since I found this recipe and my husband and I still make it on the regular! We love it so much! The green bell pepper 🫑 really adds flavor! And instead of water I sub with low sodium veggie broth!

  12. The only thing I do that’s different is I love spicy foods I add a can of pinto beans that has jalapeños drain and a can of mushrooms drained somethings , very delicious ! Family loved it !

  13. As a Hungarian what you are making is definitely not goulash if anything it’s hamburger helper and if leave the pasta out of it you can call it chilli lol but definitely not goulash. Nice try enjoy your hamburger helper

  14. Making some as we speak! I cut the recipe in half because we don’t like left overs. I wish I could load it with veggies but the grandson won’t eat it so I had to use plenty of onion and garlic powders. Everything stayed the same except I used crushed tomatoes and tomato sauce again tomato pieces wouldn’t work! It smells amazing and he is just waiting on that last 25 mins and done
