    Came here on a whim and enjoyed the dish. I was solo which I think was a disservice to the meal–the pork belly was too rich to be a standalone entrée to me (my mistake). It was nice and savory and pretty sweet and the veggies complimented it well–I think they were mustard greens but not sure. I could’ve used something lighter and more acidic on the side to cut through it all but that’s on me.

    As an aside, the restaurant was playing some kind of Lady Gaga greatest hits the entire time I was there. A slight plus for me.

    A pleasant surprise to find Shanghainese cuisine! Their grilled pork bun (生煎包) is good, comparable to what you’d find in Shanghai

    Yes, you cannot eat a lot of this but it’s so so good.

    This is gonna make me sound nuts, but my tiktok algorithm has been pushing these cup noodle ads from China for the last year (two years?) and they’re always eating this dish as the main entree with the noodles as a side. I can’t tell you how happy I am that you posted this. I finally know what it is and where to get it lmfaooo

    I am so obsessed with the Chinese preserved vegetable condiment. I am not super happy that it contains MSG but I am cooking with it regardless after tasting it once.
