I hope you’re all having a fab day! Today I’m making corned beef hash πŸ™‚ this is ridiculously tasty and such a fantastic family meal! It’s relatively inexpensive to make too. Lovely served with a fried egg on top….I’m not a fan of eggs, so I just like some crusty bread with butter or a couple of oat cakes. I’ve listed everything I used down below.

Serves 4
I used:

2 Large onions (thinly sliced)
About 600g of floury potatoes (cubed with the skin on) such as Maris Piper or King Edwards.
700ml beef stock
A generous knob of butter
400g Corned beef (I just used canned) cubed
200g Frozen peas
200g Cabbage
2 Tablespoons grain mustard
2 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
Salt & pepper to taste
Chopped chives

***Optional fried egg, spring greens or bread & butter to serve***

  1. Hello everyone. Try using this delicious recipe as a pie filling with savoury short crust pastry. Line the dish bottom, add the filling and top with pastry. Reduce the liquid in the filling as it will seep into the pie crust. In Northern Ireland we call it Corned beef pie. It's unbelievable and a great family meal. Jason in Belfast.

  6. I'm English and I make corned beef hash quite often but I make it more like your gran did, I just add a fried onion to the potato

  7. Def gonna try this. My mom's corned beef hash sounds very similar to your mom's, just potato and the corned beef mashed together. Delicious, but always felt it could be improved.

  14. Instead of cooking it on stove can I just add all the ingredients to a slow cooker ? If so what setting low or high and for how long or if better on stove and once cooked can I then transfer all the cooked ingredients to slow cooker instead of grill and cook on high for 10 mins ?
