What's the deal with all the syrup and sugar? Isn't this supposed to be a savoury dish?
Gorgeous sweet potato casserole!!😻😻😻🐯😎🌹
Can you add mini marshmallows?
I almost make the same exact recipe, just pecans instead of pistachio. Might try this this year!
Bake the sweet potatoes 🍠 it greatly improves it! ☝️
This recipe is one of my favorites! I make it every year! So yummy!
My go to, since about 6-7 years ago. Delicious. My family and gf's family both demand it every year.
I just saw this in my feed today, the day AFTER Thanksgiving. Damn.
Made it with a kabocha squash that came in my local delivery veggie box. It looked like a green pumpkin. I have made the sweet potato version multiple times and have been told that I MUST bring this to every Thanksgiving dinner, lol. Anyway, the squash kind of tipped the balance from side dish into dessert. People put whipped cream on it and said it was pumpkin pie without the nasty spices. 😉
Tip: Use canned Bruce’s Yams. Delicious! Time saver, too!
I’ve been making this for Christmas and thanksgiving the last 3 years and it’s always a hit!
John, I love your recipes , I use them all the time. Best wishes to food wishes.
I uses honey pistachio and added salt result was awesome!
Omg. My dad would have LOVED this ❤️❤️
This has become a huge hit during the holidays with my family! I started making it a few years ago and everyone just fell in love with it!
Pistachio is a much better choice than marshmallow
This has been the tradition in my family for years and years now thank you!
Made of for the hubby and friends a couple years ago and this year I’m making it at the fire station. Thanks Chef John.
surp? I guess he means to say, "seer rup"
Thanks for your recipe! I am being forced into a work pot luck. I hate sweet potatoes but happened to get a couple in a variety veg box I bought. Now at least they won't go to waste and I have something for the pot luck
Thank you! This was a hit at Christmas dinner!
This recipe was the star of Christmas this year. And yes, the turkey shined but this was a solid add.
Another on saved to favorites.
Just made this for the Thanksgiving dinner and it went over really well. Would definitely say it's more on the sweet side still, what with the brown sugar in the topping. I might cut that back just a bit next time, personally, but it sure was tasty as-is. Definite winner.
I've made a variation of this several times, and it's always hit. I leave out the pistachios (my sister is allergic) and substitute a combination of peanuts and crumbled graham crackers. (about half and half).
If you want to try my version, don't use all peanuts; that's way too much peanut flavor.
Thank you and thank goodness 🤍 a “less sweet candied yam recipe” was what I was challenged to do!
Ahh my favorite Chef. Thank you Chef John
I've been doing this superb recipe for the last 5 years and it became a tradition in our home. Thanks chef!!! Happy Thanksgiving 2022 y'all!!!
Thank you Chef John. Never disappoints I wanted to make this but I was surprised at the amount of sugar everyone was adding.
