A very "Nostalgic" Cake 😋 but oh so Good 👍💯.
I tend to only use "Cake Flour" I find that it gives a Cake an light and airy taste.

I love your baking videos. I preferred measuring by weight. In your first video of making a pineapple upside down cake you said 3/4 of a cup of brown sugar was 200 g . In this one you’re saying 3/4 of a cup is 150 g. Which one do you agree on?
Yummy! I love your recipes. I use an iron skillet for mine most of the time because my grandma did. I also used pineapple juice for my liquid in my batter. Sometimes I’d use pecans in place of 🍒. The iron skillet would almost candy the pineapple and make a crunchy caramel…I’ve even used muffin tins. Definitely a classic! Thank you.

I just made one. It’s in the oven right now but the mistake I made I used a two part cake pan with a clasp. I don’t have another 9 inch cake pan and didn’t want to use an 8 inch cake pan as I wouldn’t be comfortable with the cooking time. I feel it’s starting to leak but I did put it on another oven tray to prevent ruining my oven with sugar. Hopefully it’ll turn out ok.

I see you’re updating a lot of recipes from a while ago. I love it. I made this cake every year for my mom’s work. One of her boss’ loved it and it just became a thing I did (for boss’ day). She is now retired and every time I make it we talk about all the years this cake has seen. It’s our summer tradition now. Thank you.
I made this cake about 6 years ago for a friend but didn’t get to taste it. I recently made it again for myself and it’s delicious. I will be making it again. I made homemade whipped cream (don’t like store bought) and that was a great addition. This cake is too easy to be this good.

Watching this again but I have a question…could you use a round spring form cake pan with buttered parchment at the bottom, then remove the ring when the time is right, place a plate on the bottom of the cake and flip it over, then remove the bottom of the pan, then the parchment? I'm wondering if the buttered parchment would help to not have a chunk of the pineapple sticking to the pan.

Can I substitute the flour for gluten free flour?
My grandmother and my mother (and in turn, myself) would sprinkle about 1/4 cup of finely ground pecans on top of the brown sugar mixture before placing the pineapple. It gives a deep, rich flavor – like the candied walnuts at Xmas time.
