This week Jamie turned 40 and as a birthday treat we’ve unearthed this little gem for him and you, to enjoy. Back in 2005, Jamie travelled across Italy to celebrate turning 30 and here he stops off in the Amalfi hills to cook a simple sausage risotto recipe. This never before seen footage shows a younger Jamie in a chance encounter that led to this being his favourite memory of the entire trip.

  1. That man is straight from a Ghibli movie with that beard. Also this is my favorite video to watch on YT

  2. 2020 still fires me up as a
Cook 👨🏼‍🍳 to hone my craft and feed amazing people. Hope everyone is safe 🙏🏼

  3. Since the upload of this video I always come back every year for little taste of authentic humanity. We need it now more than ever.

  4. I love this and I love Jamie Oliver's spirit. But that herder didn't just show up, they research the programme to death. The herder is beautifully clean, his clothes look immaculate, he doesn't look like he's been out all day!

  5. That guy just trying to herd his goats but keeps getting stopped by celebrity chefs. He's doesn't want to be rude though. (:

  6. The whole of Italy is looking at this and saying Che schifo! In Italy in each region, recipes are most important. Ask anyone Italian.

  7. When I first watched this video, it was only just a few months old. Now, it's been years, but I keep coming back to this particular episode. Not because of the recipe, but the heartfelt passion to share, the act of kindness and hospitality. Cooking is one thing, the food is another, but the intention and the act making someone (especially a complete stranger) happy by simply offering them food elevates everything in this video. Kindness knows no race nor language, and food is one of the best ways to share it.

Relatively, we need more kindness like this, especially now that we are facing a global crisis.

  8. Jamie, I love you traveled around and cook outdoor. I wanna see more videos like this that you cook outside with ingredients you just find on the way! 🙂

  9. Oh lord🙏…he seems kalm kind good human being man i dont mind work in mountains…Caz am fed up with morden rush.😢

  10. Just saw the episode where he went to Marettimo and I thought that was the best. But this is next level. By the way him having his own tv channel is awesome! (FOOD REVOLUTION needs to come back)

  11. this is my fave Jamie moment of all time.

In his youth, absolutely swimming in his passion, eating life with a ladle and sharing it with whomever he encounters.

  12. I'm a good cook, but have learned so many little cooking gems from Jamie. Thank you
