Happy Chicks moved into the place that used to be a salad drive-thru on the access road of 183 just before Braker. It opened about a week ago.
I drove past it tonight and could still smell fried chicken in my car when I was down the road hitting the turnaround to HEB.
Circled back around and got the Little Chick for $8.99. Pretty basic two tenders, fries and drink combo. Not something Iβd regularly order but Iβd come back to try their salads and breakfast combos since I drive by all the time. Itβs a block away from the Chick-fil-A at Braker, thatβs tough competition.
Guy who manages the place said he used to be the GM at the restaurant they have on 6th Street. I think this is third Happy Chicks location but itβs drive-thru and walk-up orders only.

In this economy?!
Can you get one chicken strip through the drive through?
$12.50 for three chicken strips? Hard pass.
Lol.
That looks mid ngl
I went this week! Location kinda sucks especially pulling out. Wish the picnic area was nicer.
I wish they didnβt change their Mac and cheese recipe but Iβll still come back for those fries and spicy tenders.
Already priced out. From chicken. Austin is getting too boogie for me π€¦ββοΈ
Whatβs the over-under on how long this restaurant lasts in that location. Like, what, four months?
The place that started out as a burger place by Costco?
If this is the location next to Costco, itβs cursed. Nothing has survived there for very long.
$9 for that box in the pic?
$9 for two unseasoned chicken strips and frozen fries? FOH
This looks just as bad as Bushβs Chicken.
$3.49 for a fountain drink. I can spend $1.50 at Costco and get a hotdog with my drink.
Been waiting for Happy Chicke to move up north! Though this new location is notoriously a terrible spot for any business.
Should have called it Dead Chicks ππ₯
You’re telling me fries and a soda would be $8? Wtf is going on around here?
Expensive and mid
I kind of wish drive-thru only places like these weren’t legal in the city.
I’ll go against the grain here and say that for my fellow vegetarians/vegans, their vegan chicken is really good! It fills the void that Project Pollo left for me.
$9 for 2 paltry tenders and fries with ~~NO~~ drink in a pain in the ass location in a competitive spot?
To frame this, Canes Box combo with Drink, slaw, sauce and toast with fries and 4 tenders is $10.49. I can’t see why someone would go out of their way for chicken tenders there.
I am confused. Is the salad $9.99 without chicken on it? Why wouldnβt I just go to HβEβB?
Is there not a Raising Caneβs in Austin?
5 chicken tenders for $20? Eat my ass better off going to a sit down restaurant
How does it compare to Canes?
2 tenders for $9?
Recently went to that location. So they have two ‘types’ of sauces they give. Those in a plastic container with a plastic snap on lid, and those in a plastic container with a plastic film that covers the top.
The heat from the chicken warped the plastic film lid causing it to open up in transit and the sauce just went everywhere in the box. It was at least contained in the box but sort of meh. I don’t think they were logistically looking at the heat exposure with those containers.
Food wise, it’s fine. Always felt a bit expensive, and still feels it even with everybody else raising rates.
Their fries have sugar on them, and once you notice you can’t not notice.
Sauces are OK, though I feel like if you’re getting chicken just for sauce, probably should rethink the food priorities.
Cream corn was good.
Whatβs with Austin charging hella money for mid anything, donβt even get me started on the breakfast tacos
Golden Chick or Canes looks better than this place. What am I missing?
seriously way overpriced and honestly who does breast over thigh meat. gonna be dry AF
People bitching about the price. Canes costs about as much for less.
What a fuckin rip off
Sad Chicken
That’s at the location near the Costco that’s had 2 other fast food stands that closed b/c that place is damn near impossible to get in and out of.
I wouldn’t even go there regardless of how the food is because the location is ass.
Maybe if this one fails the owners will give up and they can sell the land to Costco so they can have better street access
Way too expensive, and no gravy . I’m off to Chicken Express or Top Notch.
$7 for a kids grilled cheese?! It may be a good place but those prices are steep, especially for that area where there is a lot of competition.
