Hey guys!

This is my second time cooking with my new crockpot.

I followed the recipe, put it on i hours low, came home from work and its completely burned on the sides as you can see…

Did I add to little water even through i followed the recipe? What do you guys think?
No mushrooms, but added red wine and chili flakes!
And about half of the lentils.

Heres the recipe: https://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/slow_cooker_veggie_48578

Stupid question: did you cook it with the lid on or off?

if you remove the mushrooms that would have lowered the water content because mushrooms do release water

Are you sure you added the tomatoes? I ask because there’s not much tomato color visible, and the tomatoes and their liquid are a large part of the liquid in this recipe. How long did it cook? Are you sure the lid was tightly closed?

That one is a recipe problem. Nothing in there requires 8 hrs on low.

    Long-cooking is generally for meats.
Medium length cooking for raw-added lentils, barley, beans, etc.

This recipe had pre-cooked lentils and small-diced veg. 4 hours max.
This experience will come with practice. Keep at it!
Sorry about your ruined dinner. 🙁
